During Joe Gonzales’ tenure as the Democratic Bexar County District Attorney, the homicide rate rose by 50% between 2018 to 2021. And violent crime increased by 13%.

If you’re fine with that, then go ahead and vote to re-elect this criminal-coddling prosecutor on Tuesday, November 8.

Leftist billionaire George Soros bought Bexar D.A. seat in 2018

You see, the bad news for Bexar County started back in 2018 when leftist billionaire George Soros bought the seat for his Gonzales puppet. First, he invested $958,000 in the Democrat primary in March, to oust conservative Democrat Nico LaHood because he opposed sanctuary cities for illegal aliens.   Then, Soros spent another $600,000 that year to ensure Gonzales’ electoral victory. That’s a whopping $1.5 million dollars!

Tragically, for the cause of justice, Gonzales is one of an army of 75  Soros-financed, rogue District Attorneys across America who are championing criminals and endangering law-abiding citizens.  Because they think the criminal justice system is inherently racist, they are refusing to prosecute at all for many crimes and releasing violent felons onto the streets with no bail or low bail instead of holding them in jail pending their trial.  Inevitably, this leads to a much higher violent crime rate.

San Antonio Police are demoralized

Not surprisingly, the police are totally demoralized. Half the time it’s not even worth their time to arrest a criminal and write up the report because he’ll be released back onto the streets. Consequently, police are retiring in droves. Simultaneously, few new recruits want to enter into the thankless career of law enforcement where the lead prosecutor, like Joe Gonzales, does not have their back.

I remember the days when San Antonio was considered one of the safest cities in the country. For many years, my wife and I enjoyed staying in a hotel on the river and walking all over the Alamo City. For the last three years, we have deliberately avoided downtown San Antonio for fear of our safety. Among our friends, we are not alone.

Republican Marc LaHood will make Bexar County safe

Thankfully, Marc LaHood, the younger brother of Nico LaHood, is the Republican antidote to these horrific, pro-criminal policies which put Bexar County citizens in grave danger every day.

Marc LaHood will bring violent crime way down.  He is committed to:

  • Prosecute violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants.
  • Crackdown on “Gateway” crimes like theft, criminal trespass, and all other “broken window” offenses that lead inexorably to more serious violent crimes.
  • Get politics out of prosecution. He will fully prosecute every crime to the fullest extent of the law.
  •  Support law enforcement as the product of a military and law enforcement family.  That means opposing any misguided effort to defund the police.

No wonder the Deputy Sheriffs Association of Bexar County has endorsed Marc LaHood!

The October 2 San Antonio Express-News article rightly claimed that the Bexar County District Attorney’s race is “a clash of philosophies.”

Stark contrast

The choice is crystal clear.

Either continue with the fatally-flawed leadership of Democrat Joe Gonzales. Or elect Republican Marc LaHood to return San Antonio back to its former status as one of the safest American cities that people will want to frequent.
